About The Annex Shul

The Annex Shul is a vibrant and inclusive grassroots Jewish community in downtown Toronto. As a diverse variety of Jews, we come together for spiritual, educational, social, ethical, and cultural engagement through lively and participatory Carlebach-style services, learning opportunities, social gatherings ranging from Shabbat dinners to holiday parties, community service projects, and cultural events.

Although the majority of Annex Shul participants are graduate students and young professionals, all are welcome, regardless of age or affiliation, to join us for weekly, Friday-night davening (services) and bi-weekly Shabbat dinners.

Pirkei Shelanu: Living the Ethics - starting Wednesday, February 10th

Join members of the Annex Shul community as we explore Pirkei Avot and struggle to meaningfully apply the Ethics of Our Fathers to our own modern-day lives.

Part book club, part personal transformation, and part social action, this group will meet bi-weekly to discuss themes from Pirkei Avot, devise strategies to live the ethics in our own individual lives and work towards developing a group-action plan that will bring us together in support of a local community project or organization.

Co-facilitated by Scott McGrath (Social Worker, Therapist and Coach) and Yacov Fruchter (Jewish Jedi Knight). As with all Annex Shul events we hope that you'll come and make it your own!
