Annex Shul Tikkun Olam/Charity Initiative presents an exciting volunteer opportunity!

Passover Food Drive - Tuesday, March 16th, 7:30–9pm

The Annex Shul will be spending an evening assisting the National Council of Jewish Women of Canada, Toronto Section (“NCJWC”) with the sorting and packing of food items, as part of its Annual Passover Food Drive. The night will begin with a presentation about poverty in Toronto followed by sorting and packing food items and performing other related tasks.

This Passover Food Drive provides individuals and families with essential food items needed for the Seder meal and the week of Passover. Last year, approximately 3,000 boxes of food were packed and delivered to approximately 10,000 individuals in need, including a significant proportion of seniors and children.

Tuesday, March 16th, 2010 7:30 – 9 pm
NCJWC Office, 4700 Bathurst Street (next to Lipa Green Building)

Any donations of food items by volunteers would be greatly appreciated. The Kosher for Passover items needed most include the following:

Matzos
Matzo Meal
Gefilte fish
Tuna Fish
Tea
Canned Fruit/Apple Sauce
